The First GH1 & Hot Rod PL Feature Film
Product Information
Liam Finn, my friend and honorary resident of The Nuys (technically he’s about 1-mile away in ritzy “Lake Balboa”, but who’s counting) has finally launched his blog/website- www.finndependent.com. I’m really glad too- and not just for the obvious plugs he’s gives my company on his website. The reason I’m glad, is I can finally speak freely (in public) about the project that he’s quietly put together over the last several months.
Liam has pulled off a mighty clever trick. He’s gone out and made an “El Mariachi”, that is a super low budget production that looks like he spent a million (or more.) The movie is an American Indy film despite a French title, “Rejouer”. How’d he do it? Liam wrote, produced and directed- he has experience with all three, but it’s a mighty impressive hat trick to do all three WELL- and at the same time (especially when spending your own money- and there isn’t much of that to boot!)

A big help to making this movie happen was leveraging new (and inexpensive) technology; Panasonic’s, mine (Hot Rod Cameras), Rosco etc. It also helped that Liam has favors owed to him that he’s amassed over the years from friends/professionals in the business. I first met Liam right after he finished working on the movie “Training Day” (that must have been 2000 or 2001), and he had at least 3-4 people working on the set he’s known much, much longer. It’s an impressive list of people who donated their time, energy and expertise to make this movie happen. Rejouer has easily got some of the highest production value I’ve ever seen in a low budget production.
