Attending HD Expo in Burbank on Wednesday or Thursday? I’ll be at the show meeting and greeting. You can probably find me around the Abel Cine booth. If I’m not there, ask for me and someone in the booth will let you know how to get in touch with me. I’m going to bring a little treat with me. It’s the prototype of the Hot Rod Cameras HDSLR case. This one is inside a Pelican 1520 case, with 100% custom foam. Similar is size and shape to my custom cases, except mine have better handles, more resilient to impacts- oh yeah– it’s also LIGHTER! The cases are being built to my specifications- and here’s the killer part: the case holds a complete Panasonic GH1 plus Hot Rod PL Deluxe Kit, Beachtek DXA-5X box, 2x lenses, Charger, 4x Batteries, Owners Manual and is airplane carry-on compliant.

Oh and I almost forgot, perhaps you don’t have a GH1, maybe you use another fine camera like the Canon 7D- yep it’s 100% compatible for the 7D, and all 7D accessories- what’s that? You say you don’t own a Hot Rod Kit yet, that’s okay too- the custom foam can hold other accessories in the place where the Hot Rod CSH pieces go. Totally flexible, totally rugged. Should be available on or around December 1.

If you’re interested, you’ll need to move quick to get a special deal I was able to work out with my custom case supplier. I was able to negotiate a special introductory deal for the first 20 customers, but I showed my friend the prototype and he asked me to reserve the first two! One for his GH1 and one for his 7D. So it’ll be the first 18-case get a big price break.

Regular Price is $419, but for first 18-cases I’m knocking $85. Introductory price will be $334 with free shipping in the continental US. By Monday I’ll have a pre-order page up, and I’ll post a link to it here. Once those 18-cases are sold out I’ll remove the link. Photos coming soon!
