After having access to a GH1 for the better part of 2.5 months now to shoot a movie and some HD tests, it’s easy to forget the camera takes darn good still photos. Here’s one I took of my son strapped in the the front pack.

Today was quite a day, I’m on a quick vacation with my family. We decided to go to Armstrong woods (a lovely and easy walk), I also rescued a baby duckling that was drowning in shallow water- a careless fisherman had thrown a ball of fishing line in a small body of water and the duckling had managed to get it’s leg and neck caught. It’s mother was quacking feverishly unable to do anything. A small group of about 15, 8-9 year olds attending a day camp all gathered to watch just as I hopped a fence designed to keep people and wildlife separate. The duckling flopped exhausted left and right as it struggled to stay above water and breathing. Finally after several tense moments I was able break the fishing line and free it. It swam away quickly to it’s mother. The group of kids gave me a standing ovation and called me “hero.” I was a bit embarrassed. Awww, I love ducks.
