The Mad Rush To Purchase a Lumix GH1

So today I received 3x request from people asking me either

1- How I got a GH1 (actually I bought two)
or
2- Where they can buy a GH1 immediately.

I usually don’t post links to forums, but this one is worth taking a look at. Essentially it’s 42 GH1 cameras selling out in a few hours.

Oh, and the answers to these questions…. #1 The first was purchased in Japan near the release date (April 24) and the second came from Amazon.com one of the first places to pre-order (pre-ordered May 6- delivered July 22)

And the answer to question number 2, If today were yesterday I would have said Crutchfield, as they had 42- but now they’re gone, no idea when they’re getting their next shippment, and aren’t taking pre-orders. So where then? I think that anyone really wanting a GH1 should pre-order through Abel Cine in New York. I know they have many GH1 cameras on order and a short wait list. And no, I’m not just saying this because they also sell my product. The fact that Abel Cine is NOT a mass CE merchant means that you don’t have to compete with all the people waiting in line at who don’t know better, and obviously haven’t yet discovered my blog.
